PennState Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Thoracic Surgery for a nursing job in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Penn State Health Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking qualified Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner candidates to work as an integral member of our Cardiac Surgery team at Holy Spirit Medical Center with potential coverage at Hershey Medical Center as needed. Both hospitals are located just outside of Harrisburg, PA. The APPs are responsible for providing surgical assistance as well as pre and postoperative patient care including test interpretation and patient referral under the responsibility and supervision of the surgeon. Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) certification is required for Nurse Practitioner candidates. Prior experience caring for cardiac surgery patient population and proficiency in performing endovascular vein harvest is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment.
  • Adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner certification
  • National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
